Originally organized to honor the memory of a fallen University of Tennessee Army ROTC Cadet in Iraq, the Mountain Man Memorial March has now become one of the largest events of its kind in the nation. ROTC units, active military, reserve and guard units, veterans, as well as friends and family converge on the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to trek 26.2 miles in memory of all the men and women that served or fallen in the United States military. This two day event offers courses for both marchers and runners, with a marathon, half-marathon, and 10K for runners. Marchers have the option to participate as teams or individuals in military or civilians categories. For more information click here.
