Gatlinburg’s Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival

The time has come to get ready for all of the festivities that the fall season brings to Gatlinburg, TN each year. Just a few days ago the city kicked off its annual “Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival”, celebrated from September 1st to October 31st, a two-month event that gets everyone excited for the most beautiful season in this fair mountain town.

Mother Nature showcases her finest this season as the trees change color from green to red, orange, pink, and yellow, a sight that can only be appreciated fully in person. Just imagine the beauty of 800acres of woodlands transforming into a palette that would make an artist eager to create a masterpiece. You will certainly want to bring a camera along to capture this annual feast for the eyes.

Throughout the months of September and October there are dozens of tiny festivals and events filling up Gatlinburg’s social calendar, making this a wonderful time to pack up the family and get away for a weekend (or more!) You will want to book your luxury cabin rental as far in advance as possible as, just like you, thousands of other visitors will flood the area to hike, shop, dine, and just plain relax in the mountains.

One event during this time that you will not want to miss is the Gatlinburg Craftsmen Fair from October 7th to the 23rd. Held at the convention center downtown, and minutes from our Gatlinburg Cabins, many of the area’s finest craftsmen and artisans gather to showcase their pieces and even give tutorials on how to make some items yourself. Welcome to everyone for a small fee at the door, you will want to save some room in your car for the extra pieces that you find at the fair.

While the Harvest Festival has already kicked off, the weather hasn’t cooled down just yet, with most days promising guests warmer weather and plenty of sunshine. Enjoy the last few days of summer before you need to pack your scarves, sweaters, and galoshes for the sporadic showers that fall can bring.
