Gatlinburg, TN celebrates kids at Dollywood this summer

Nothing says summer like going for a swim in the Pigeon River, eating candy from Fannie Farkle’s, and heading on down to Dollywood for its annual KidsFest. For two months, from June 11th to August 11th, this local establishment hosts one of the largest festivals just for kids in the southeast that is actually a source of entertainment for the whole family. Great for children of all ages, you will definitely want to schedule in at least one event this year but prepared to stay for more when you see what they have in store.

Have a kid that loves science? Bring him or her to see Mark Nizer put on an educational and exciting show that will knock their Crocs off. Music fanatics and those who just like to make some noise will get a kick out of BAM! which features percussion and so much more. Or choose a show from the rest of the lineup that is best suited for your family: Curtis Adams, the Gazillion Bubble Show, Kevin Johnson, the Paper World Show by Mimirichi, the Passing Zone, and Star Trek Live.

And while you are at the park, you might just find yourself gravitating towards one of the dozens of other events that happen daily. Have a meet and greet with its roving characters, take in the 4D show “Journey to the Center of the Earth”, or stay for a lunch so delicious you just might have to beg for a doggy bag. There is hardly a dull moment at Dollywood, a reflection of that bubbly singer who has made it all possible.
