Gatlinburg, TN – Elk Springs Resort has issueda traveler warning cautioning visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains that the risk of not wanting to leave has been increased to elevated. This was recently changed from the previous level of “high”. An operations manager, not authorized to comment on the situation indicated “the excellent spring weather and longer day light has really made a difference. We felt it was imperative to notify our guests of the travel risks given these conditions”.
May is typically a slower paced and less crowded month and offers visitors an opportunity to take advantage of lower rates on Gatlinburgcabin rentalsand less crowds while also enjoying the cooler pre-summer weather. Many of the flora is in spring bloom giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy spring colors and early summer weather. Cooler nights will provide ample opportunity to enjoy sitting in front of the fireplace or enjoying one of the outdoor fireplaces on screened in porches located in cabins on the main property.
