Starting at 3 pm this Saturday, October 1st, the parade of orange cars will travel from down the Parkway in Gatlinburg. Once the cars have made their way down the Parkway, they will stay at Cooter’s Place in Gatlinburg for the rest of the weekend. While seeing a bevy of Dukes of Hazzard cars is exciting enough by itself, the weekend gets even better. Two of the stars from the original series will be waiting at Cooter’s Place to sign autographs all weekend long. Ben Jones, who played Cooter Davenport, and Rick Hurst, who played Cletus Hogg, are always willing to pose for pictures and tell funny behind-the-scenes stories about filming the show. When speaking about the upcoming event, Ben Jones said: “I love getting together with the car owners to cruise along some of our country’s beautiful roads. We have a ball and really turn some heads!” The actor best known as Cooter now lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains with his lovely wife. After gaining fame on TV, he went on to serve two terms as an United States COngressman.
