While we can certainly understand why someone would want to escape to a Gatlinburg cabin a long dreary winter, there is nothing quite like wearing gloves and a scarf during the holiday season. That is why so many of our guests prefer the Elk Springs Resort in Gatlinburg, TN to a tropical destination for Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s Eve. No matter what holiday you are celebrating, everyone can agree that cuddling up by the fire in your luxury cabin rental is the perfect way to close out the year.
Who can you see spending the holidays in our luxury cabins? Everyone from romantic couples to boisterous families, all of whom tell us that the Elk Springs Resort has everything they need to relax and have a good time. We offer cabins from one bedroom to six bedrooms with a variety of amenities. Need a game room for the kids? Check. How about a hot tub for cozy nights under the stars? Check. Comfy beds, warm fire places and deluxe kitchens are just a few more of the things you need to have the vacation you need and deserve. While you can choose to spend your entire vacation indoors during the holidays, we recommend venturing out a few times to see Gatlinburg and enjoy some of the events that can be found downtown.
Love ice skating but can’t stay standing for more than a minute? Take in a show at the Ober Gatlinburg this winter featuring local skaters from in and around Gatlinburg. The Christmas on Ice event will be held on December 1st and 2nd at the famous Ober Gatlinburg, a holiday wonderland that overlooks the city. Both shows are free to the public, making this family-friendly event even more appealing. Watch the ice skaters in action at 7 PM on Saturday and 5 PM on Sunday night. Leave plenty of time before the show to enjoy everything that Ober Gatlinburg has to offer during the holiday season.
Just a few days later the holiday season truly swings into action with the Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade. Join thousands of people from Gatlinburg and nearby cities to take in the 37th annual parade in downtown Gatlinburg. You can listen to the festive sounds of marching bands from Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia while sipping a hot chocolate. Over 100 entries to the parade are expected this year, making it an event that you will not want to miss. The parade begins at 7:30 PM at Traffic Light #1A and will travel to Traffic Light #10. This festival of lights features LED lights that were recently purchased by the city of Gatlinburg as part of a green initiative to make the city more eco-friendly for both the locals and visitors to the region.
