Rosebay Rhododendron in bloom. These are a unique Rhododendron that bloom more some years than others, and no one really knows why. This photo was taken by Hannah Schlicher Kilgore on Jakes Creek You can see this from Meigs Mountain Trail footbridge. The Meigs Mountain Trail is in Elkmont and is about 9 miles from Elk Springs Resort Gatlinburg Cabins.
