Gatlinburg New Years 2013
My husband and I have a New Year’s tradition. Every year after the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday (shopping, cooking, eating, and visiting family) we make it a point to getaway in a Gatlinburg cabin rental. We plan a three day romantic rendezvous, just the two of us, no obligations, no hustle, just relaxing.
This tradition has been something I look forward to every year, a beacon of light during the holiday mayhem. We usually retreat to the mountains with a longing for the solace and serenity of a tall mountain peak.
Winter is a fabulous time to visit the Great Smoky Mountains. The temperatures fall along with the leaves and there is a certain beauty that can only be seen at this time of year, as the spines of tees and stark mountain lay before you stark and bare.
This also means less traffic, crowds, and more time to snuggle up in your cabin at Elk Springs Resort. These luxury cabins tucked into the mountain side offer the perfect perch from which to view the mountains, relax, hibernate and rejuvenate with your special someone this New Year.
These upscale yet rustic décor offs the perfect place a romantic getaway and sleep-in. Elk Springs Resort Cabins feature flat screen TVs with blue ray disc players, hot tubs, pool tables, and more. You can relax and have fun without every having to leave your cabin.
This past fall, my husband and I took a pre-holiday season getaway, and stayed at Elk Springs Resort. During our stay at the cabin we took a sunset stroll around the resort and admired different cabin names and design. We swung in the community gazebo, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and we marveled at the wildlife from our cabin porch.
It was the perfect “Romantic Rendezvous,” as we barely left the cabin all weekend and just grilled out each night and then sat in the hot tub under pearl moonlight. This weekend retreat got us into the mindset to do it again. I am already looking forward to our next mountain retreat!
This New Year make a resolution to do the same, plan a romantic rendezvous at Elk Springs Resort, and getaway from it all.
