Are you spending Christmas with us at the Elk Springs Resort for the first time in Gatlinburg? If so, we must first congratulate you on your excellent choice. We hear that if Santa wasn’t so busy during the holidays, he would sneak away with Mrs. Claus and stay at Snuggled Inn. With that said, you may be wondering just what you can do during a Christmas holiday in Gatlinburg, TN. If you are looking for prime relaxation time, a chance to hike or go shopping, you can accomplish all three with ease.
Before arriving at the Elk Springs Resort, you must cast away all thoughts of a traditional cabin. Our luxury cabin rentals have everything that a luxury hotel would offer in a location that luxury hotels cannot touch: the Great Smoky Mountains. Prepare yourself to wake up every morning to the incredible view that only a luxury cabin rental in the mountains can offer. There are times when even we find ourselves in awe, and we have made the Great Smoky Mountains our home for decades.
To prepare for a wonderful Christmas Day at the Elk Springs Resort, you need to arrive a few days earlier. This will give you the chance to explore downtown Gatlinburg and take in the festivities like caroling, illuminated Christmas trees and, of course, plenty of last-minute shopping! If “Santa” forgot to pack a few things, the shops of Gatlinburg and surrounding area has everything you need to fill all the stockings in your family.
Since there are plenty of grocery stores nearby, you can save all of your food shopping for your arrival in Gatlinburg. Your luxury cabin rental has a full kitchen, complete with all the tools you will need to prepare a Christmas feast. What are you cooking up this year? We could always stop by to sample some of your grandmother’s famous recipe for pumpkin pie; if there is any left over, that is! We recommend taking a nice long hike on Christmas Eve in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Nothing builds up a healthy appetite for a huge Christmas meal like spending a few hours outdoors in the chilly but enervating winter air of the mountains.
To truly get into the holiday spirit, you should pick up some movies to snuggle up to during your stay. We recommend some of the holiday classics like “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “A Christmas Story”, or “It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Story”. Nothing beats an afternoon spent with the family watching the classics, especially when you choose one of our cabins with a home movie theater. After a movie or two, you can rouse your family members by brewing up big cups of coffee and hot chocolate and sitting on the patio in a rocking chair. Share stories of Christmas past, talk about what you hope Santa will bring and start working on your list of New Year’s resolutions, all while enjoying the sights and sounds of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Not staying with us for the Christmas holiday? After reading this, you may be wishing that you were! Don’t worry, you can always book ahead early for next year. We look forward to spending the holidays with all of our guests at the Elk Springs Resort, and we hope that you have a wonderful holiday season.
